Because caption files are just timestamps and text, developers can create searchable videos - type a word like fast or benchmark in the search box above.
Developers can also use a metadata <track> element to drive slides or speaker notes on the video timeline. In the example on this page, a metadata track is used to create a speaker info box that is synced to the video timeline.
